Life’s Too Short To Waste In The Office
By Lorraine | September 26, 2006
With the sad departure of Steve Irwin it makes you look at your life and realize that too many of us delay doing what we want to do because we’re too busy making a living.
Steve was passionate about animals and the environment and dedicated his life to that end but how many of us are also passionate about other things in our life yet continue to lead lives of quiet desperation working away and unable to get off the treadmill?
I know someone who runs his own business, works 15 hours a day, 7 days a week, been bankrupt twice, has no family life (he recently separated from his wife), has all sorts of health issues and has been following this same path for a very long time.
Unfortunately he’s investing his time and whatever money he does have in everything else except himself. And you know what? He’s very unhappy, but not unhappy enough to change. It’s only a matter of time before his stressful life catches up with him and he’ll have no choice but to change.
The sad thing is with the end of the year fast approaching, if you’re one of these people, you’ll probably continue to follow the same path, getting the same results. You’ll be having your Xmas dinner reviewing the year just gone and realise nothing much has changed from the year before.
With longer working hours, most people are too tired or lack the motivation to attend seminars and read books to learn how they can be more productive so they too can pursue the things in life they enjoy. They can also be sceptical about investing their hard-earned money in case they don’t gain the benefits promised from the events.
The good news is you can learn how to become better and move forward in pursuit of your goals if you really want to. To save you time, energy and money we’ve recently launched The Productivity Coaching Club www.theproductivitycoachingclub.com with a group of other like-minded people.
Learn from the comfort of your own home or office and at whatever time you choose, you’ll discover tips, tools and strategies that will revolutionise your productivity so that you do have more time and know how to take the next step forward to pursue your goals.
Steve Irwin will be sadly missed, yet he died doing something that he loved.
When your time is up will you really say ‘I wish I spent more time in the office?’.
Have a great week.
