How Efficient Is Your Filing System?

I’m in the process of refurnishing my office and have to replace the current flooring. I rang the company who originally installed the floorboards and was able to provide them with full details of the type and colour of the existing floorboards so that I could get a quote to have the office flooring matching the rest of my home.
The flooring was installed 5 years ago so how was I able to remember all these details? Well I had kept the records. I have a filing system for my personal life as well as business.
So here was an instance where I could have wasted lots of time and money (as my time is worth a lot of money) and was saved by diligently filing away my paperwork.
